In intent, as much as in content and no less so in architectonics, flowers are at the beating heart of this collection of poetry. For that feeling which poetry plucks from the image and that meaning which it plucks from feeling, are all herein both denotatively and connotatively contained in flowers. It is significant that these flowers start off as a bouquet of withered flowers which, ultimately, morph into another bouquet, this time, of regenerative flowers. This, for me, is the poet’s manner of moving from hopelessness/aridity to hope/fecundity. . . . By any means, Flowers in the Savannah is a mesmerizing collection.

When we read about flowers described in such vivid imagination, we are transposed to emotional ecstasy and emotional despondency.
